Yellow Dock Root Powder
Rumex crispus
Originally native to Eurasia but now found worldwide, Yellow Dock belongs to the Polygonaceae family. Harvested in India, Yellow Dock Root Powder contains beneficial compounds including Oxalates, Volatile oil, Anthraquinones, and Tannins.
This versatile powder derived from the root can be applied topically as a wound treatment, paste, or poultice, and may be infused with witch hazel for a topical spray.
Herbalists use it in tinctures, either alone or combined with other tonic herbs, and the chopped root appears in various tea blends.
The iron-rich root is traditionally used for its mild laxative effects due to anthroquinone glycosides (emodin) and for topical application on minor skin conditions.
Note that moderation is recommended due to oxalate acid content, and the powder has a bitter flavor from its astringent properties.
